NGS Open Garden Scheme
24 Jun 2018 @ 11:00 am - 4:30 pm
The Museum of East Anglian Life’s spectacular Walled Garden has been accepted into the National Gardens Scheme (NGS) for 2018
The scheme supports nursing and caring charities throughout the UK by opening thousands of gardens, many of which are not normally open to the public. With a prestigious reputation, NGS puts gardens ‘on the map’, bringing them to the attention of enthusiasts and professionals alike.
An oasis in the heart of Stowmarket, the ½ acre walled Victorian kitchen garden has been restored and replanted since 2012. Showcasing many heritage vegetable varieties as well as trained fruit trees, herb bed, cut flower border, old roses and apple tunnel. It also boasts a renovated greenhouse, potting shed and conservatory.
Many of those responsible for working to transform the Walled Garden will be available to speak to and ask questions to on the day, with tea and cake available to purchase. Entry is just £2.50 per person (children free) with money raised going to the NGS’s chosen charities.
