MORE ON THE TRADITIONAL MUSIC DAY

Other highlights during the Traditional Music Day include

· Big Music Session: from 11.00-4.00, hosted by some of the guests. This has become a favourite aspect of the Traditional Music Day with participants and spectators alike.

· Family ceilidh with the Dartmoor Pixies and caller Dave Hunt helping you through some English Country dances.

· There will also be opportunities to have a go on a melodeon, a popular instrument for traditional music. The East Anglian Traditional Music Trust is unique in offering these instruments for loan. Drop in at the Smithy and someone will be on hand to help you work out the basics.

· By popular request, the Big Jig jig dolls will be back - come and try your hand making these traditional dancing dolls keep time and provide some percussive accompaniment to the live music played specially for you!

· The day winds up with a Stepdance Special featuring many local exponents of this rural dance tradition alongside guests Jason Rice from Devon and Ken Keppeler from the USA.
